2025 ANPA National Ballarat bound

Updated: Nov 28

The 2025 ANPA National Show will be held in the Victorian central highlands town of Ballarat from July 18-20.

The show will be hosted by the Melbourne Pigeon Society supported by the Geelong and District All Breeds Pigeon Club.

Please note: Judge nomination forms are attached at the end of this post.

MPS President and show organising committee chair Mark Tung said the agricultural pavilion at Ballarat Showgrounds was a brand new building of 3500 square metres.

He said the pavilion was capable of housing up to 5000 pens and there was also ample space for individual breed judging areas and a secure sale bird area, with 24-hour video security cameras.

The venue was chosen after an extensive search around the State for a suitable show venue when a second hall was not able to be secured at Geelong Showgrounds to accommodate what is expected to be a large entry.

Mark said the plan was to have two tiers of pens to ensure birds were at an ideal height for judging and viewing.

An impressive venue has also been booked for both the recommended host accommodation and the national presentation dinner.

The RACV Goldfields Resort is approximately nine minutes drive from the show hall and has offered 10 percent discount to exhibitors and further discounts to RACV members.

The resort has a full range of accommodation along with a bar, bistro, pool, gym and an 18-hole golf course.

The presentation dinner will be held in its large dining room which has a seating capacity of 600, microphones and large digital screens. The three-course buffet will be $65 per person.

There is no shortage of alternative places to stay in Ballarat with more than 46 advertised places of accommodation such as hotels and motels and more than 220 Airbnb properties listed.

Ballarat is part of Victoria’s historic goldrush area also has plenty to offer for exhibitors and visitors who attend with family and partners who want a break from pigeon activities.

The Art Gallery of Ballarat is Australia’s oldest regional gallery Located in the heart of Ballarat’s central heritage precinct, the gallery boasts a stunning collection of Australian art.

Ballarat also has an aviation museum and tramways museum, as well as a magnificent Botanical Gardens.

Another attraction well worth a visit is the Eureka Centre at the National Heritage-listed Eureka Stockade Memorial Park, considered to be the site of the 1854 Eureka Stockade where the rebellion took place. It is home to one of Australia’s most compelling historic artefacts and textile treasures – the Eureka Flag.
