ANPA President Frank Hayes has thanked fanciers and clubs who have already supported 2015 ANPA National Show at Penrith, NSW, and reminded those thinking of providing support to do so as quickly as possible so deadlines can be met.
The following Ring size list has been approved by the ANPA Committee following a review to add in the more recent breeds and to clarify some anomalies previously listed for the various breeds. Note that the Modena size is C (9mm).
Please note that ANPA rings are only available from ANPA Affiliated Clubs to their financial members.
Chris Schutz receives his award for ANPA Master Breeder of Kings in 2010.
ANPA welcomed a new Life Member and recognised the contribution to the association and achievements in breeding and showing of other members this year.
At the National Show in July ANPA President Frank Hayes announced that Chris Schutz of South Australia had received the unanimous support of the Committee to receive the highest honour presented by the association and become a Life Member.
Frank read the following citation in support of the decision:
“No amount of publicising Chris Schutz’ commitment to our Association would justify the work he has put into the running of ANPA over a long period.
“Along the way, Chris represented ANPA as a South Australian Committeeman from 1996 to1999 when he took on the ANPA Secretary’s position until 2006. He served again as ANPA’s SA Committee from 2008-2010 and stepped up as SA Vice President in 2011, a position he continues to hold.
The 2015 ANPA National will be held at Penrith near Sydney from July 17-19, ANPA President Frank Hayes has confirmed.
“Following a second and more recent meeting which I attended at Penrith, the plans for staging the 2015 National Show in NSW are now well advanced. We have a team committed to delivering an excellent show and I invite others to join,” Frank said.
“For some time it has been difficult to identify a suitable venue in NSW and I would like to thank those members who have taken on that task over the last couple of years – in particular John Hanson, David Lewis, Brad Turner, Bob Grant, Allan Makin, Steve Cummins and the late Bob Weekes. Finally one was confirmed which can display over 2000 pigeons on a single level which means 4000 if double stacked pens are required.
“It is carpeted, air conditioned, has ample room for traders and an on site caterer who provides light snacks and refreshments. There is also excellent parking adjacent to the pavilion with easy access including toilet facilities. All this is within a couple of minutes walk from adjacent hotel accommodation and entertainment. The site also has cable water skiing, wake boarding, aqua golf, an amusement arcade, and a nearby Golf Course.
Fire has destroyed the lofts of leading US fanciers John Heppner and John DeCarlo jnr, killing the majority of the championship quality birds in numerous breeds. ANPA President Frank Hayes has offered his condolences on behalf of fanciers in this country who have had the pleasure of meeting John Heppner during his many visits to judge at National Shows.
