New National Show sponsor
South Australia based pigeon and poultry pellet producer Laucke Mills has agreed to become the major sponsor of the ANPA National show in 2013 and 2014.
Laucke Mills will contribute $3000 towards the shows as well as supplying feed in the shows at Adelaide in 2013 and Ipswich in 2014, ANPA President Bob Grant announced this week.
The sponsorship deal coincides with the launch of a new pigeon pellet into the Australian market.
Mr Grant said the deal ended a long search for a new major sponsor.
“Since 2008 Brad Turner, David Lewis and I have continually adapted the Sponsorship Proposal and approached several potential sponsors, including veterinary and feed suppliers.
“It has been a frustrating task but David has now secured Laucke Mills as sponsor for a two year term.
“Laucke Mills has a wide distribution network for all its products, as can be seen by visiting the company website. I urge all members to support the company which supports us.
“I know many of our members are also poultry fanciers and if they are not already using Laucke Mills products I hope they will give them a go.”
Laucke Mills Sales Manager Steven Fairey welcomed the deal, which sees the company become the exclusive feed company advertising at ANPA run events, along with getting trade display space and other promotional advantages.

Switched to Laucke pellets in mid December and had no delay in the birds accepting them. Birds feeding young were the first to accept them and the rest just followed. No waste at all and will be staying with them to make an assessment of growth rates in the young and general wellbeing through the moult.
My pigeons only required two days to switch to pellets. I only tried four pairs.
Pending price I may continue with pellets. I noted no waste all pellets eaten.

I have received some samples of these pellets from Laidley Town and Country, the size is around wheat in diameter and all pigeons should be able to eat the pellets and no wastage. Town and Country are requesting prices from the supplier, we will include prices in our IPSC Inc Newsletter in December.
Presently I am trying the samples.
Guys pellets will only be a small component of the mix aking with a rasnge of other quality seeds
Does this mean that pellets instead of seed would be provided at National Shows? I have nothing against pellets but birds do take some time to get used to eating them.
As an aside, I would appreciate any feedback from anyone that has used this particular range of pellets.
I am not sure about that Peter, but this company only makes pellets for pigeons. They acknowledge birds take a few days to get used to eating them, so hopefully by next July all our birds will have tried them and like them and it will not be an issue. It is up to SACP whether or not they supply other feed.
No Worries There Peter ,
David has advised that standard grain mix will be available at the National . Laucke’s Pellets will also be available for those who have already used or wish to sample . David might advise further .
Regards , Bob GRANT .
