The 2018 ANPA AGM will be held on Saturday, July 21, at the Best Western Airport and Convention Centre in Melbourne, starting at 2pm. The venue is close to Tullamarine airport and interstate members should book accommodation online www.airportmotelmelbourne.com.au/ or by phoning (03) 9333 2200. There is a free airport shuttle. There are also a number of other accommodation options nearby.
The following paper was presented by Dr Colin Walker at the International Veterinary Conference on Pigeon Pathology in Krakow , Poland on the 7th -8th June 2018. The paper essentially covers what is known about Rota virus and the development of the vaccine up to the completion of the vaccine trials in July 2017, at which stage the manufacture and release of the vaccine became the national Boards responsibility.

Dr Mark White of Treidlia Biovet has this week provided the following update;
We have had to apply for a one month extension in which to put in our second information dossier to the government regulator.
The Australian National Racing Pigeon Board (ANRPB) wants to ensure that flyers/fanciers in Australia can access the Rota Virus vaccine (when available) in the most efficient manner possible.To that end we are requesting that individuals and clubs provide the
ANRPB with feedback as to their intentions (to purchase the vaccine or not).
Notification for ANPA members. The committee has decided to cancel the National this year due to the uncertainty about the availability/timing of the Rota vaccine. No other show brings together fanciers from all over the country, which is why no risk can be taken.
Rotavirus Vaccine: The contract between Latrobe University and Treidlia Biovet and side agreement between Treidlia and the ANRPB (Aust National Pigeon Racing Board) have now been signed. This media release is from the ANRPB but also informs fancy pigeon breeders.
