Is anpa going to support other royal agricultural society across Australia
Hi Peter ,
The RAS.NSW saw a need to ask for our help . We have helped by canvassing exhibitors for judge selection, by assisting with class re-allocation and by donation of awards (by NSW ANPA members not from ANPA funds). We would be pleased to do the same for any RAS that needed an advisory body . The Royal shows provide the greatest public exposure for our hobby , and ANPA is committed to provide the best public image possible .
Regards , Bob GRANT .
Thank you for answering my post on your blogsite, here in queensland I’ve heard that is there is no more than 200 birds exhibited there will be no royal ag section for the pigeons that was why I asked that question we never get more than 100 or so birds entered up here. We have had big turn outs here for the Ipswich shows and they ahve some real big numbers ESP when a national show is on. Why are anpa member uncle Allan makin paying for awards? And not anpa itself? Can anpa not afford to pay for awards themselves? It would be good to see anpa put some energy and money into saving the Queensland royal show
Hi Peter ,
You’ll see from other posts that some would not be impressed with ANPA allocating funds to State societies , all expenditure is voted on by committee . As I have explained we were asked by Sydney RAS to assist , our assistance as an ‘advisory’ was to : Revamp the Schedule to attract entries , To fairly allocate qualified judges by consultation with exhibitors and to advise on fair judging protocol .
Allan Makin volunteered to set up a ANPA.NSW Members trophy fund for the RAS . It is not merely the trophies that draw entries , but the hope of a regulated and fairly run pigeon section .
The QPFS have been requested to assist with a revamp of the Bris Royal and if members get behind that move , the same process could be followed . I am sure the QPFS could expect assistance from Queensland members , with advice and with entries .
Regards , Bob .
