Adelaide artist Melanie Les has produced a series of works entitled Pigeon Pairs.from her visit to the Adelaide ANPA National Show.

She says, “I have wanted to paint pigeon portraits for a long time now and each time the Royal Adelaide Show opens I check out the birds and take photos with the thought that ‘one day I’ll get these birds down on canvas. So I’ve finally done it. I have portrayed them as mug shots, as the bars of their cages seemed to suit this. The titles/numbers of the paintings are police numbers from famous people. They are 450 x 450mm. Acrylic on Canvas. Price $620 each or $1200 for a pair.”
